A Lifetime Dedicated to Rock n' Roll
Probably because I was born in 1980,explains why my passion towards the rock and roll of the 80s is so great. It's a simple case of imprinting!
I started playing guitar at the age of 11 years, guided by my first teacher, Max Peglia, who remains a great friend today. Certainly an important part of my beginnings with the guitar was that Max was only 10 years older than me and loved the same music as me! So my first contact with this instrument was instinctive and certainly entertaining. My guitar studies from 1992 to '94 continued under the guidance of Enzo Rocco, a jazz musician who, like Max, tried to reconcile the study of technology with those who were my musical inspirations.
In the summer of 1995 I attended a seminar in which Robben Ford explained his compositional technique, i.e., the conception of a musical phrase and other elements making up a song and making it efficient and consistent ... exactly just what I'm interested in! But as we all know, a seminar is too short to learn to compose music, which is why in the autumn of that year I enrolled in the CPM Professional Guitar Milan where I studied with Luca Colombo and from where I graduated in 1997.
I believe that the years spent at C.P.M. were very important in my musical education; in fact, in this period I had the opportunity to streamline, improve and enhance everything I had learned in previous years while encountering new and various kinds of music, and studying musical structure in depth and detail.
After graduating, I felt the need to explore deeper certain technical aspects of music that I loved, so I followed the clinics of guitarists such as Frank Gambale, Jennifer Batter, Kiko Loureiro, Doug Aldrich, Andrea Braido, Massimo Varini, Donato Bigoti and others.
An important experience in my training was made with Dark Fire, the band that I formed in 1994, and with them I was able to put into practice everything I learned and gain experience ... including the early experiments as a composer! That materialized in my first CD entitled "Dark Fire" which was produced and distributed on the international scene by Sacred metal and Audioglobe in 2002.
In 2003 I joined Red Rose, a cover band that performed mainly American rock of the 80s, with which I got to play in clubs in the north of Italy using the styles of blues, funk and fusion, and in this period began a new collaboration with singer Stephen Nutti, with whom I deepened my knowledge of Italian pop music and tour in northern France.
In 2004 I graduated in musicology Pavia University in Cremona, Italy.
Since 2005, I have been teaching electric guitar at the Scuola Civica di Musica Claudio Monteverdi in Crema (Cr).
In 2006 was born Dream Company, an Italian tribute band to Bon Jovi, which is more active today than ever, and with which I have the opportunity to play not only in clubs all over Italy but also the rest of Europe.
In 1999 another milestone in my musical journey was the design of Pink One, my first luthier-made custom guitar that was realized by Galeazzo Frudua. This was important because it marked the beginning of a new phase of my musical research, which continues today, namely the study of all the elements that make it possible to produce Tone. Said more clearly, from there I began to study how to create and craft tone to have various musical characteristics. That's why I now own many guitars, equipped in every way, and all the amps, pedals and effects possible ... that is also how I became a first time customer, of Masotti Guitar Devices and Jacaranda, both of which I now endorse. Lastly, today I have begun to turn my talents into full scale studio recording, which has turned into a new obsession....
